So so cold :(

Morning all…

It’s absolutely freezing this morning.  I thought I would test out WordPress on the train.  It appears it doesn’t like low-bandwidth connections very well.  Shall try and steal some time later today to do a belated Friday Five :)

Swimming tonight!  Well in theory anyway.  Stuff is in the car, but it’s always so bitter of an evening now that it’s a major push to go.  Still will try, do need to work off all the sweets.

Very busy weekend ahead.  Must finally get the car into shape and finish moving some of my junk from the flat move into the garage for storage.  Oh and I have someone special coming to visit…  Yeee, 3 days :)

Friday Five: Misuses

1. When did you last use the edge of a coin (or a knife blade) as a screwdriver?

Probably a knife-blade fairly recently.  I carry a Utili-Key most of the time which includes a screwdriver, how handy!

2. When did you last use a wire coat-hanger to break into a car?

Never.

3. When did you last use food or drink as medication?

I used no food or drink as medication to ease the stomach bug I just had?  Otherwise, drink, many months ago.

4. When did you last use your cellular telephone as a flashlight?

Last night / early morning.

5. When did you last use a paper clip for any purpose other than to clip paper?

Within the last month, for chewing.  The last time I used one for actually clipping paper was probably making the Dirkon.

Urban Knitting – Graffiti 2.0

Urban Knitting is a new kind of graffiti where participants go round ‘tagging’ with wool rather than paint.

Deputy Dog has an article to give you the low-down.

Secret Software: IcoFX – The Free Icon Editor

IcoFX is an award winning freeware icon editor. It is an all-in-one solution for icon creation, extraction and editing. It is designed to work with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Macintosh icons supporting transparency.

This secret gem of a tool is really handy if, like me, you occasionally develop applications for Windows or Mac, or if you want to create your own “favicon” in .ico format for a website.

While Visual Studio can create icons for Windows and there are various online generators, this application has a wealth of features that make it a much better tool.

Friday Five: Middles

Woo, my first WordPress Friday Five :)

1. What usually marks the middle of your day?

Lunch :)

2. From whom (or to whom) was your most recent middle-of-the-night phone call?

E :p

3. On what social, political, economic, or moral issue are you in the middle of the road?

Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross’ prank phone calls.  What a load of rubbish.  There are more important things to worry about.

4. How likely are you to give someone your middle finger?

At the moment, high.  Stressful week :(

5. When were you last caught in the middle of a disagreement that really had nothing to do with you?

This is rare.  Occasionally though I have to stand up for people at work.

November 7, 2008

Hello world!

I’ve moved back to WordPress.

While WP lacks some of the flair I’d like, I just don’t have the time to continue developing my own CMS – it’s far faster to extend WP to do what I want.

Expect my old content to be imported shortly and new stuff to appear :)
