Friday Five: It’s Cold!

1. What’s your favorite frozen heat-and-eat food?

It’s gonna be either pizza or chips :p  Probably chips.

2. How sensitive are you to cool temperatures?

Not too much.  I’ve got used to unusual temperatures since flying where your feet are icy but head is burnt by the sun :p

3. How many ice-cube trays are there in your freezer?

Not sure – it’s not my freezer any more.  We’re more fans of ice cube bags anyway.

4. What aspect of your life seems to be frozen in place?

I’m stuck for a while with a flat that I own but don’t live in while the economy crashes until I can sell it, grieve and make the next big jump.

5. What’s your favorite blanket like?

Don’t have so many blankets nowadays – I gues the duvet on my bed is warm and soft?  I did used to have an awesome blanket with tiger / zebra cross colouring, not sure where it is now…

Ill.

Swimming tonight?  Maybe not.  I put my stuff in the car this morning to go tonight, but during the day have just got really ill.   Need to wrap up warm and get to bed early in the hope this will pass by Saturday.

Lots to do this weekend including sunglasses, flying (although the forecast is rain atm) and a trip to Fenstanton.

Cute Wednesday tomorrow :)

Friday Five: On This Date

Wow,  actually doing a Friday Five on time…  Seems quite important to get the date right tho :p

1. On March 6, 1869, Dmitri Mendeleev presented the first Periodic Table of the Elements to the Russian Chemical Society. What memories do you have of your high-school chemistry course?

Burning things…  Did we do much else?

2. On March 6, 1899, the Bayer company registered aspirin as a trademark. When did you last take medication for pain?

Headache a month or so ago I guess.  Or maybe Lidocaine for a minor procedure.

3. On March 6, 1853, Giuseppe Verdi’s opera La Traviata premiered in Venice. How do you feel about opera?

This opera was mentioned on the QI episode I watched last night… An interesting thing about the flower, outrageous :p  Opera’s ok, though I’m not as big a fan unlike other more classical music.

4. On March 6, 1947, American film director Rob Reiner (Meathead!) was born. Which of these Reiner-directed films have you seen, and what do you think of them?

  • The Bucket List (2007)
  • Rumor Has It… (2005)
  • Alex & Emma (2003)
  • The Story of Us (1999)
  • Ghosts of Mississippi (1996)
  • The American President (1995)
  • North (1994)
  • A Few Good Men (1992)
  • Misery (1990)
  • When Harry Met Sally… (1989)
  • The Princess Bride (1987)
  • Stand by Me (1986)
  • The Sure Thing (1985)
  • This Is Spinal Tap (1984)

I’ve only seen This Is Spinal Tap, funny all the way up to 11 baby!

5. On March 6, 1972, American basketball-player Shaquille O’Neal was born. How do you feel about basketball?

It’s cool, I can’t play it very well though, at least in school being short doesn’t really help :p  I watched some footage of American basketball yesterday, it can be very skillful.

It’s the return of Cute Wednesday for March!  This time I’m using the embed code that Flickr generates.  Attribution is done in the title of the image (as you hover over it).  Personally I’d rather give the photographer credit in a separate link, but, it’s all good…

Friday Five: PayDay!

A very late Friday Five today…

1. How often do you get paid?

Monthly usually.

2. Do you tend to splurge a little on (or shortly after) pay day?

Not really, I can manage money properly.  That means I can make reckless purchases at any time :p

Because I’m busy all the time, I don’t get much time to buy things which means if I want something, I’ll write it down and see if I still want it in a few weeks.

3. What are the few days leading up to pay day like for you?

Just normal days.  I don’t eagerly await the money to buy something – if I’m doing that, chances are I don’t really have the money to spare.

4. If you had the option, would you like to be paid daily for each day’s work?

Absolutely.  Interest = free money.

5. When did you get your first paycheck and what was it for?

My first officially printed paycheck was for working in Maplin (electronics retail).  2003 sometime.
